Soft Turkey & Vegetable Rice Bowl

A balanced, iron-rich meal featuring tender ground turkey and soft-cooked vegetables over fluffy rice. This bowl is designed with a 'clumpy' texture to help babies practice self-feeding with a spoon or their fingers.
Ingredients
- 50 grams Ground Turkey
- 0.25 cup White or Brown Rice
- 2 tablespoons Zucchini
- 2 tablespoons Carrot
- 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
- Cook the rice in slightly more water than usual (ratio 1:3) until it is very soft and clumpy. Do not add salt.
- In a small pan, heat the olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it into very fine, tiny crumbles with a spatula.
- Add the finely diced zucchini and grated carrot to the pan with the turkey. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are completely soft and the turkey is fully cooked through (no pink remains).
- Stir in the pinch of cumin or garlic powder for gentle flavor expansion.
- Mix the cooked turkey and vegetable mixture into the warm, soft rice.
- Optional: Add a tablespoon of breast milk, formula, or low-sodium vegetable broth to make the mixture moister and easier to swallow.
- Allow to cool to room temperature. Form the rice into small, bite-sized clumps or 'balls' to encourage the pincer grasp.
