Soft Mini Salmon Patties

Soft, brain-boosting patties made with omega-3 rich salmon and mashed potatoes. These mini cakes are easy to grip and perfect for babies transitioning to more complex textures.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams Salmon
  • 1 small Potato
  • 1 small Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Dill

Instructions

  1. Cook the potato until very soft, then mash it thoroughly with a fork until smooth.
  2. If using canned salmon, drain it well and carefully check for any tiny bones. If using fresh, poach it until it flakes easily and ensure all bones are removed.
  3. In a medium bowl, flake the salmon into very small pieces and mix with the mashed potato, egg, and finely chopped dill.
  4. Add the breadcrumbs and mix until the consistency is firm enough to shape.
  5. Form the mixture into small, flat patties (about 3-4 cm wide). Small patties are safer and easier for baby to handle.
  6. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat with a tiny amount of olive oil.
  7. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the egg is fully cooked through.
  8. Allow to cool significantly and break into smaller pieces if your baby is still mastering the pincer grasp.
