Berry & Spinach Mini Power Smoothie

A vibrant, creamy smoothie hidden with leafy greens. Naturally sweet from blueberries and banana, it's a refreshing way to boost your toddler's iron and vitamin intake.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Baby Spinach
- 0.5 cup Blueberries
- 0.5 medium Banana
- 2 tablespoons Greek Yogurt
- 0.25 cup Whole Milk
- 1 tablespoon Orange Juice
- 0.5 teaspoon Chia Seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the spinach: Wash the baby spinach leaves thoroughly and remove any tough stems.
- Prepare the fruit: Peel the banana and wash the blueberries. If using frozen fruit, there is no need to thaw, as it makes the smoothie creamier.
- Place the spinach, banana, and blueberries into a high-speed blender.
- Add the Greek yogurt, milk (or water), and a splash of orange juice. The Vitamin C in the juice helps your toddler absorb the iron from the spinach.
- Add the optional chia seeds for an extra boost of Omega-3 and fiber.
- Blend on high speed for 45-60 seconds. Safety Step: Ensure the mixture is completely smooth with no visible pieces of spinach leaf, which can be a sensory deterrent or a minor choking hazard.
- Check the consistency: If it is too thick for a straw, add another tablespoon of milk or water and pulse again.
- Safety Step: Pour into a small, sturdy open cup or a straw cup. Serve immediately while cold, but not brain-freeze inducingly icy.
- Safety Step: Supervise your toddler while drinking to ensure they don't tip the cup too quickly.
