Warm Spiced Fruit Porridge

Ingredients
- 1 medium Apple
- 1 medium Pear
- 3 large Dates
- 1 handful Mixed Dried Fruit
- 1 medium Orange
- 1 pinch Ground Cinnamon
- 1.5 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch Ground Nutmeg
- 2 pieces Whole Cloves
- 0.25 cup Rolled Oats
- 1 cup Full-Fat Milk
Instructions
- Place the diced apple, pear, chopped dates, mixed dried fruit, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, and whole cloves into a small saucepan.
- Simmer the fruit mixture over low heat for about 20 minutes until everything is very soft and the liquid has thickened into a syrup.
- Carefully find and remove the 2 whole cloves from the fruit mixture and discard them.
- In a separate pot, combine the oats, full-fat milk, and vanilla extract.
- Cook the oats over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently until the porridge is thick and creamy.
- Mash the cooked fruit with a fork to create a lumpy texture suitable for your baby's stage.
- Spoon the warm fruit compote over the creamy porridge and serve at a safe temperature.
