Sweet Potato Crackers

Crunchy, golden crackers made with sweet potato purée and just a handful of pantry staples. A naturally vibrant snack rich in beta-carotene that toddlers love to munch on.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sweet Potato Purée
  • 1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Spices

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sweet potato purée, melted butter, flour, baking powder, and chosen spice until a smooth dough forms. Add a tablespoon more flour if the dough feels too sticky.
  2. Wrap the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 175 °C (350 °F). Line two baking trays with baking paper.
  4. Divide the dough in half. Roll each half out on a floured surface to about 3 mm (1/8 inch) thickness.
  5. Cut into desired shapes — squares, rectangles, or use small cookie cutters for fun shapes.
  6. Place on prepared trays with a little space between each cracker.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, flip gently, then bake for another 10–12 minutes until golden and crisp on both sides.
  8. Cool completely on the trays — they will continue to firm up.
  9. Safety note: Break into small pieces for younger toddlers. The crackers are crunchy, so supervise closely.
