Steamed Broccoli Florets

A perfect first finger food. These soft-steamed florets are easy for babies to hold and explore. Rich in Vitamin C for a strong immune system and fiber for healthy digestion.
Ingredients
- 1 head Broccoli
- 2 cups Water
Instructions
- Wash the broccoli thoroughly under cold running water.
- Cut the broccoli into large florets, keeping about 2-3 inches of the stem attached. This long stem acts as a 'handle' for babies who can't yet open their hand to release food.
- Place the florets in a steamer basket over boiling water.
- Cover and steam for 6-8 minutes. The broccoli should be bright green and soft enough that the thickest part of the stem can be easily pierced with a fork.
- Crucial Safety Test: Press a floret between your thumb and forefinger; it should squish easily with minimal pressure.
- Rinse briefly under cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent the broccoli from becoming mushy.
- Allow to cool completely before serving. Offer one floret at a time to your baby.
