Lamb & Sweet Root Vegetable Mash

A nourishing and hearty meal. The rich iron content of lamb is paired with sweet carrots and parsnips to create a balanced, easy-to-digest puree for growing babies.

Ingredients

  • 50 grams Lean Lamb
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 small Parsnip
  • 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Carefully trim any fat or gristle from the lamb and cut into very small cubes.
  2. Wash, peel, and dice the carrot and parsnip into small, even chunks.
  3. Place the lamb cubes in a small saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Add the diced carrots and parsnips to the same pot. Continue to simmer for another 15 minutes or until the meat is very tender and the vegetables are soft.
  5. Transfer the lamb and vegetables to a blender, adding a few tablespoons of the cooking liquid.
  6. Add a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil.
  7. Blend on high until the texture is completely smooth. For 6-month-olds, it is highly recommended to press the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any remaining meat fibers.
  8. Allow to cool completely and test the temperature before serving.
