Iron-Rich Beef & Vegetable Puree

A nutrient-dense meal featuring tender beef, carrots, and potatoes. This blend provides essential heme iron, zinc, and B12, supporting your baby's brain development and immune system.

Ingredients

  • 50 grams Lean Beef
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 small Potato
  • 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Trim any visible fat from the beef and cut into very small cubes.
  2. Wash, peel, and dice the carrot and potato into small, even pieces.
  3. Place the beef cubes in a small saucepan and cover with water or low-sodium bone broth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the meat is very tender.
  4. In the last 10 minutes of cooking the meat, add the diced carrots and potatoes to the pot (or steam them separately for maximum nutrient retention).
  5. Ensure the beef is cooked through to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  6. Transfer the meat and vegetables to a blender, including some of the cooking liquid.
  7. Add a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and blend on high until the texture is completely smooth and liquid-like.
  8. Pass the puree through a fine-mesh sieve if any grainy meat fibers remain to ensure it is safe for a 6-month-old.
  9. Allow to cool completely and test the temperature before serving.
